A little update on what a couple of our members got up to over the weekend!!
John Perring came round and we went through my hives to mark the Queens. We only managed to find the Queen in one of three hives and after a bit of faffing we
hesitantly marked her (for both of us this was our first Queen marking !!). Our paint job was a bit of a bodge but it does the job and I think we'll be better next time.
John took a photo of the unfortunate Queen and also some of the bees bringing in loads of pollen from the Oil Seed Rape they were busy working.

Plenty of pollen being brought in, probably from nearby Oil Seed Rape fields. |

Thanks Stewart Maher and John Perring for sharing the experience and photos with us!
